After lunch at Katz’s Deli with the Dinner Club crew today, we went to Lincoln Center to do some people watching for Fashion Week. It was obvious that most unknowns were there just to be noticed in their outrageous bras made of mirrors with matching glass eye masks. But then there were some well dressed women garnering more attention than you’d expect from someone that was otherwise unremarkable.
One woman in particular was being swarmed by cameras – so much so that I asked around to find out who she was. The weird thing is, the three people I asked first had no clue. They were crowding around and taking photos because everyone else was taking photos.
After a man went up to her for a picture with her and asked for an autograph, I figured he must know who she is so I asked him. His response? “She’s Sophie something. I forgot her last name. She’s a well known fashion blogger.” Say what?? When did bloggers become the new celebrities and why didn’t I get the memo?
